Which Three Arsenal Players to Select v Wolverhampton? Fantasy Premier League Team of the Gameweek
One key decision in the Fantasy Premier League squad of the gameweek is to go with zero Manchester City players - indeed, even Haaland!
The budget is needed to load up on Gunners assets as they welcome one of the most struggling sides in Premier League history.
It's true, Manchester City scored a total of five goals on their last away trip, but now they face Palace, a side with the second-best defence in the division for goals conceded and fourth-strongest in relation of xGC.
And the Gunners home to Wolves is the type of encounter you just have to exploit - the top team in the division against one devoid of momentum, technical ability and self-belief.
The squad of the gameweek is selected based on current FPL prices to fit within a £100m budget, as if you were playing a Free Hit chip.
Performance of Last Week's Team Do?
No captain return but big hauls from Fernandes (eighteen), Ruben Dias (fourteen), Foden (12) and Tarkowski (9), along with a lucky sixteen-point Dewsbury-Hall bench appearance resulted in a massive eighty-three points. Success!
Fantasy Premier League Squad of the Week for Gameweek 16
Keeper and Defence
Roefs, the Black Cats, keeper, £4.7m - Newcastle (home)
The first derby in the top flight for eight years is set to be loud, fiery, feisty - and it may prove to be one of those games that is full of tension but minimal clear chances.
Which would make the Sunderland keeper, third in the goalkeeper scoring charts, a solid option.
Ben White, Arsenal, £5.2m - Wolves (home)
An Arsenal defensive asset is a must this week. Wolverhampton have just one goal on the road this season and a single goal in their last six fixtures.
Ben White is a great attacking option when he is given his opportunity. Having started the past two games at right-back, registered a fourteen-point haul against Brentford and leads the charts in that time among Arsenal defenders with two key passes, two shots in the box and an expected goal involvement of 0.7.
Marc Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - the Toffees (home)
Everton are erratic so this selection is more about Chelseadefence and the Spaniard's upside.
Chelsea have the fourth-best defensive record while Cucurella has created more chances (19) than any other defender in the league.
And he is yet to score this season, after scoring five times the previous campaign.
Diogo Dalot, United, £4.4m - Bournemouth (home)
You shouldn't have high expectations for a United shutout - they have just one this entire campaign - but the Cherries'goals have slowed down in the past two matches.
More importantly, Dalot has been occupying some very advanced roles as a wing-back in the past 3 games.
In those matches he's taken four attempts, two big chances, a goal and one assist. He also missed a cracking chance at Wolverhampton on Monday night too.
Midfielders
Saka (C), Arsenal, £10.2m - Wolves (home)
This fixture against Wolves is too good to ignore and that makes Saka, the Gunners'top offensive asset essential.
No stats required to back this up. United had twenty-seven attempts at Wolverhampton on Monday night, scored 4 and could have had double that.
Arsenal will be rubbing their hands.
Declan Rice, Arsenal, £7.1m - Wolverhampton (home)
Just a single point behind Bruno Fernandes in the midfield scoring list, Declan Rice is so reliable for Arsenal.
More attacking this term, he's created more chances than any other Gunners player (27) and has five assists to show for it.
He's also the most reliable for game time as the manager could see this as a opportunity to rest his players.
Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - Bournemouth (h)
The Portuguese playmaker might have taken over from Antoine Semenyo as the essential Fantasy Premier League midfield asset.
Fixture-proof, consistently a shout for defensive bonus points and with multiple routes to points.
Cole Palmer, Chelsea, £10.3m - the Toffees (home)
This week's differential pick, Palmer has his first full 90 minutes since returning after a lengthy layoff and we know what an high-scoring FPL asset he can be.
You get the feeling that, as soon as he has one good game, FPL managers will be rushing to sign him up.
He missed the Blues'Champions League loss at Atalanta, but that was the club managing his minutes so he should be fresh for Everton.
Ouattara, Brentford, £6m - Leeds United (home)
Leeds United enter this game off the back of two great home results against the Blues and the Reds, but away from home they have let in three times for every one they've scored.
This is probably Ouattara final match before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has been excellent for the Bees this term, and has 5 attacking returns in his past three fixtures at home.
Forwards
Igor Thiago, Brentford, £6.9m - Leeds United (h)
It's been a frustrating couple of gameweeks for the striker owners, with just three FPL points in two games.
However, he's the second goal scorer in the league and has 7 strikes in 7 home games. He's the prime forward option for this round and, with a kind fixture list, you can set and forget until the end of January at the very least.
Hugo Ekitike, the Reds, £8.4m - Brighton & Hove Albion (home)
It is expected that the manager continues to start with the promising striker, after his two-goal performance at Leeds.
He performed great at the beginning of the campaign and you can't help but think what he would have done had Alexander Isak not arrived and competed with him for playing time at centre-forward.
The Bench
- Martin Dubravka, the Clarets, £4m - the Cottagers ({h|home
