The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most recent action-packed instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in chaos and madness with the same glee, all while weaving engaging, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two creators whose creations have embodied all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by having a different backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their steady belief and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from season to season, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual unconventional, daring approach to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
